Outlander star Sam Heughan has reportedly been asked to audition for the role of James Bond by producer Barbara Broccoli. The Bond team is said to be keen on casting a Scottish actor to pay homage to the character's roots, with Heughan's odds of getting the role cut from 50/1 to 20/1. Cillian Murphy is also creeping up the list, with odds cut from 8/1 to 4/1. The current frontrunners include Tom Hiddleston, Richard Madden, and James Norton. Daniel Craig will play 007 for the last time in Bond 25.
