Despite being based on a Kirkman comic book and having similarities to "The Walking Dead," "Outcast" struggled to attract viewers and was canceled after two seasons.

 The premature development of the show and its premium cable platform were cited as reasons for its failure. A smaller budget and lower expectations could have potentially led to its success.
