Aminah Nieves is an American Indian actress who plays the role of Teonna Rainwater in Taylor Sheridan's 1923. She attended the Hammond Academy for Performing Arts to study performing arts and participated in various theatre acts to hone her skills.

Despite almost passing up the opportunity to play Teonna, she embraced the role and values it as a chance to honor her people's history and their enduring suffering. Aminah Nieves won a special prize for breakthrough performances in Blueberry (2021) and has also appeared in other movies and TV shows. Aminah hadn't watched Yellowstone before joining the 1923 cast, but now she is a huge fan.
