Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan is expanding his universe with various spinoffs, including 1883 and 1923. While the success of the original show is undeniable, it's clear that the franchise's future lies in its spinoffs rather than the main series. Costner's exit at the end of Yellowstone season 5 will mark the end of an era, but there are plenty of other stories to be told in the expanding universe. The creation of 1923 was due to a misunderstanding on Paramount's part regarding the ending of 1883, leading to a new chapter in the Dutton family's history. Despite creative disagreements between Sheridan and Costner, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down.
