Teonna Rainwater, a young girl who had murdered abusive nuns at an American Indian boarding school, was being searched for by priests who found her and chased her down. During the altercation, Teonna blindingly defended herself by sticking her fingers in one of the priest's eyes, and a sheepherder named Hank shot and killed the two priests.
Teonna's father later discovered that his daughter was missing and that trouble had occurred at the boarding school. Meanwhile, Spencer Dutton and his wife Alexandra were taken to shore in Sicily after their ship journey and bumped into Alexandra's ex-fiancé. 1923 will return next Sunday on the Paramount+ service.
