Outlander season 7, episode 4 reveals the fate of Richard Brown, the main instigator of the protest against Claire in season 6. In the books, Richard disappears after bringing Claire to New Bern, but the TV series shows Jamie violently avenging Claire by possibly killing Richard and his descendants. Tom Christie's return brings closure to Malva's murder as he confesses to save Claire, but Claire learns he is free and didn't suffer unjustly. This puts the ordeal of Malva's murder to rest in Outlander.
