Executive producer Greg Nicotero promises that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will reveal more about the mysterious boat the character was on and his escape from it. The first episode of the series shows Daryl being captured by a survivor group and taken onto the boat. The final scene reveals that he destroyed important research while escaping, prompting the group to hunt him down. Nicotero confirms that the destruction on the boat was Daryl's handiwork and that it will be explored further in the series. The new villain characters may be connected to variant zombies and Daryl unintentionally interfered with their research. Daryl will face more enemies as he travels across France with new allies.
