Fear the Walking Dead season 8's latest episode has been criticized for rendering Dwight's entire redemption arc pointless. The character's journey from being a part of Negan's Saviors to joining Morgan's group in the spinoff and trying to do good was undone when it was revealed that he joined a new group called PADRE. Dwight and his partner Sherry work as collectors for them, leaving their child behind. This twist is a surprising regression for Dwight's character development, and it makes little sense given his past experiences with Negan. Many fans feel that making Dwight a member of the group working against PADRE would have been a better choice for his storyline.
