Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor has provided the vocals for the opening theme of Season 7 of Outlander, according to STARZ. The network released a special Valentine's Day version of "The Skye Boat Song" sung by O'Connor, who was praised by showrunner Matthew B. Roberts for her extraordinary talent. In January 2023, STARZ announced that Outlander would end after its eighth season. However, they also confirmed plans for a prequel series called Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will explore the love story of Jamie's parents. Outlander Season 7 will premiere in the summer of 2023.
