Cinematographer David Morrison has confirmed that the final episode of Fear The Walking Dead is now in production. While little is known about how the show will come to an end, Morrison's Instagram post teased that the finale has been "years in the making". Fear The Walking Dead season 8 is set to air in two parts, premiering on May 14. Despite the conclusion of The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead, the franchise will continue with future spinoffs featuring returning characters, such as Daryl Dixon, Rick Grimes, Michonne, Maggie, and Negan. It remains to be seen if any characters from Fear The Walking Dead will appear in these shows beyond season 8.
