Country superstars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are set to co-star in the highly anticipated prequel to the hit TV show Yellowstone, titled 1883. The announcement was made by streaming service Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios on Wednesday. The series will also feature Academy Award nominee Sam Elliott in a co-starring role.

According to a press release, 1883 will follow the journey of the Dutton family as they travel west through the Great Plains towards Montana, the last untamed part of America. The show aims to provide a stark retelling of Western expansion and explore the challenges faced by one family as they seek a better future in America's promised land.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will play the roles of James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family. Sam Elliott will portray Shea Brennan, a rugged cowboy with a troubled past. Additional cast members are yet to be announced.
