In a press release, it was revealed that 1883 will follow the Dutton family as they make their way west through the Great Plains in search of a better future in Montana. The series will explore the hardships of Western expansion and the family's journey to establish a ranch in untamed America.
McGraw and Hill will play James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family. Meanwhile, Elliott will portray Shea Brennan, a strong and handsome cowboy with a tragic past.
The announcement of their roles prompted excitement from fans and fellow cast member Kevin Costner, who stars as John Dutton in Yellowstone.
