Kevin Costner divorce heats up, wife Christine refuses to leave once-shared home despite pre-nup agreement!

Divorce proceedings between actor Kevin Costner and his wife Christine Baumgartner have turned contentious, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital. The couple, who have been married for 18 years, are currently embroiled in a dispute over their residence in Carpinteria, California. Costner claims that Baumgartner is refusing to vacate the property as stipulated in their prenuptial agreement, which stated that she should leave every home owned by Costner within 30 days in the event of a divorce.

Costner asserts that Baumgartner's refusal to move out is contingent on various financial demands she has made.

He argues that her agreement to vacate the property was meant to be unconditional and that, independent of the prenuptial agreement, she has no right to occupy his separate property residence. Despite having given her $1 million and an additional $200,000 at the beginning of their marriage, as per their agreement, Costner alleges that Baumgartner has not fulfilled her obligations.

In an effort to facilitate the transition, Costner claims to have offered Baumgartner money to find a new home, provided $10,000 for moving expenses, paid part of her attorney fees, and expressed willingness to allow the staff at the residence to assist her with packing.

According to the documents filed by Costner's team, he has acted in good faith and done everything possible to ensure a smooth transition.

The couple, who married in 2004, share three children together: Cayden (15), Hayes (14), and Grace (13). Costner references his previous divorce from ex-wife Cindy, highlighting his desire to secure access to his separate property residences following a split. He experienced a lack of housing options after his first divorce and wanted to avoid a similar situation in the future. Given the nature of his work often requiring him to be away from home, it is crucial for Costner to have a place to return to when he is not working on location.

Costner's most recent work commitments are expected to conclude in early June 2023, after which he plans to return to Carpinteria. His passion project, the Western movie "Horizon," has kept him occupied, and fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on the filming of the final episodes of "Yellowstone," in which he stars. A representative for Costner has yet to respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
