Yellowstone prequel 1883 will not have a season 2, as confirmed by creator Taylor Sheridan. In an interview with Deadline, Sheridan recounted an awkward meeting with Paramount executives who failed to understand that the show had reached a definitive end. Despite its popularity, continuing the story of 1883 would have felt unnecessary and undermined the powerful character arcs of its protagonists. However, fans can still enjoy the world of Yellowstone in its latest installment, 1923, which follows a new generation of Duttons.
