Following the sudden death of actor Matthew Perry on Saturday, it has been confirmed that he did not have a dog at the time of his passing. Despite previous reports suggesting that his Friends co-star, Lisa Kudrow, would adopt his dog, a source has confirmed to People magazine that Perry was not a dog owner.

Prior to his death, Perry had been a proud dog dad to a doodle mix named Alfred, whom he shared with his ex-girlfriend Molly Hurwitz. Perry and Hurwitz started dating in 2018, got engaged in November 2020, but eventually called it quits in June 2021.

Since their breakup, Alfred has become a regular feature on Hurwitz's Instagram account.
