The show was created as a result of the demand for another season after the grim ending of "1883." In "1923," the new generation of the Dutton family fights to preserve their home in Montana amidst the Prohibition, drought, and Great Depression. The prequel series has been well-received by fans of the "Yellowstone" universe.
