Starz drama Outlander could have premiered much earlier if it weren't for red tape, according to executive producer Matthew B Roberts. The television adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's book series took nearly two decades to come to fruition, despite Roberts recommending the books be made into a TV series. The seventh season of Outlander, based on books six, seven, and eight, will be the second-to-last season of the show. Fans will have to wait until early 2024 for the second half of the season.
