will have a super-sized seventh season with 16 full-length episodes for fans to relish. It’s the first time since the show’s debut that so many episodes have been included in one season. Part of the reasoning for this is that Season 6 was cut short due to Covid delays and star Caitriona Balfe’s pregnancy. Initially, Season 6 was meant to include 12 episodes but shortened its run to just eight installments.
So, if fans look at it from the perspective of 12 being the average number of episodes per season, the additional four being included in Season 7 are essentially missing installments from Season 6. Even still, Season 7 is being shot as a whole, so don’t expect the start of it to feel like the ending of one chapter with a sudden shift to a new story.
