Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, shared in a statement that Yellowstone has grown from a hit U.S. cable show with five million viewers to a global franchise with over 100 million fans worldwide, with multiple extensions in the works.
McCarthy praised the franchise’s storytelling and credited its creator, Taylor Sheridan, for helping to turn it into a worldwide cultural phenomenon. The new spinoffs are expected to offer the same complex and compelling storytelling that has become synonymous with the Yellowstone franchise.
Although the plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s rumored that Matthew McConaughey is in negotiations to star in the 2024 series.
