"The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman originally planned for the character Glenn to die twenty-five issues earlier than when he actually did. In the 100th issue of the comic series, Glenn was infamously killed by Negan. However, in Kirkman's original plan, Glenn would have died in issue 75 instead. Kirkman couldn't bring himself to kill off Glenn at that time and decided to postpone his death. The decision to save Glenn's death for a later issue proved to be impactful and emphasized the importance of the character to the franchise.
