The upcoming spinoff, The Walking Dead: Dead City, set in New York City, faces a significant issue of rehashing old plot lines from the main show. The story, which sees Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan and Lauren Cohan's Maggie team up to rescue her child, Hershel Rhee, has seemingly already been done twice in The Walking Dead season 11. Therefore, the spinoff must do more to separate itself from the main show and find fresh angles to zombie storytelling in order to justify its worth as a new addition to The Walking Dead franchise.
