Ahead of the highly-anticipated Season 5 premiere of Yellowstone, rumors have been circulating online, including speculation about the possibility of John Dutton's death. However, when asked about these death rumors, star Kevin Costner responded with a smirk and stated that he doesn't want his character to die because there is still much to do. He mentioned that he hasn't really thought about where the story will go in terms of John's fate and emphasized that everyone dies, but it's how you live that matters.
Regarding the end of Yellowstone, Costner revealed that he doesn't know where the Dutton story is heading.
He expressed the belief that even if they claim to know the direction, they are ultimately making it up as they go along. He stated that the final product on the page will be what he looks at to understand the story.While it would be a shock to fans if John Dutton were to meet his demise in Season 5, the character has previously faced life-threatening situations and managed to survive. In Season 1, John underwent life-saving surgery after a tumor burst in his stomach. In the Season 3 finale, he was shot but survived along with his children, Beth and Kayce. Costner mentioned that there is immense pressure on John regarding his land, and viewers will see what he does to stay ahead of the challenges in Season 5.
Yellowstone Season 5 is set to premiere on Sunday, November 13, on the Paramount Network.
