Lallybroch, the iconic home and estate in Outlander, is a fictional place but the filming location, Midhope Castle, is a real place that fans can visit. In the upcoming seventh season, the action will return to Scotland and Lallybroch will be featured both in the 1980s and the 1700s. Although author Diana Gabaldon had not visited Scotland when she first wrote about Lallybroch, she later found places in Scotland similar to what she had described in her books. Filming for season seven of Outlander has recently wrapped, and the show is expected to air later this year.
