Fans are done with the idea that someone should play Jennifer Coolidge's sister in The White Lotus season 3.

After the , fans began thinking of ways to somehow bring her back in the upcoming season 3.

Many agreed that  — could play Tanya's sister.   has also expressed interest in taking the same role. Here's how Coolidge feels about their pleas.

Jennifer Coolidge's Reaction To Tanya's Death In The White Lotus

In December 2022, Coolidge told  that she had to correct some people who thought Tanya didn't die in season 2 of 

. "I actually had a couple people say to me today they are so glad that I didn't die," she said at that time. "And I had to correct them."

She also addressed some fan theories about Tanya's fate. "There's all kinds of reactions to it. There was actually more than two people who thought it was like some sort of dream," she shared. "They thought it was a dream even though I was in a body bag. They somehow thought it was all in Tanya's head or whatever. They didn't get that I was dead dead, forever. Dead in every sense."

As for her reaction to the plot twist, she said that she jokingly convinced showrunner Mike White not to kill her character off. "I said to him jokingly throughout the filming, I'm like, 'You don't have to, you know? Tanya doesn't have to die,'" she recalled. "

She continued: "It's so funny because I don't really know Mike's writing process, but it's like all these pieces to a puzzle and so when he comes up with something like Tanya has to die, I mean, she really did. This was an episode about women and all that they have to put up with and all their survival techniques that are revealed in this.

Jennifer Coolidge On Fans Wanting Pamela Anderson To Play Her Sister In The White Lotus

After  dropped its season 2 finale, Pamela Anderson went trending online as she had just released her   documentary, . Soon, fans were talking about how she could play Tanya's mourning sister in season 3.

In February,  editor, Tara Watson tweeted: "The only thing that will heal our broken culture is if Pamela Anderson is cast in the next season of The White Lotus as Jennifer Coolidge's grieving sister.

"

About three weeks later, the  alum responded to the viral tweet during her appearance on . "I heard about it," she told the host. "I can't get it in Canada because my HBO app doesn't work because my Apple ID is American, so I can't get it there so I tried to watch it. I want to watch it but I heard everyone loves it and it's crazy. I'm up for anything."

Coolidge also weighed in after a few days. When it was brought up during a backstage interview at the , she said: "Oh wow. I just recently saw Pam's documentary and I called 100 people to watch it.

And I swear to God, we all had the same reaction. It's amazing." She noted that it was nice to "finally get the real story and she's got this huge comeback."

Jennifer Coolidge On Jennifer Aniston's White Lotus Pitch

In March 2023, Aniston also started a campaign for the role of Tanya's sister. In an interview with , she revealed that she was "obsessed with" the HBO hit and that she'd like to join the cast if there's an opening.

"Did you hear it, Mike White?" she said, referring to White not calling her on his first failed rounds of selling his show. "Remember when Mike said at the Golden Globes, 'I know you all passed on it!'" she added.

"I didn't! I didn't even get a call."

Coolidge shortly blessed her fans with a much-needed reaction to Aniston's pitch. In the first week of April, the same reporter asked her about her thoughts on Aniston possibly playing a part in season 3. "I love Jennifer Aniston," said the  star who was with her  co-star, Jane Lynch.

"But if Jennifer Aniston gets to do , then Jane Lynch gets to do ," Coolidge quipped.

Lynch said she would be down for it. "I think we should do it together," said the  actress. "I would love that." Unfortunately, fans aren't on board with Aniston joining the series.

But over on Instagram, writer Evan Ross Katz, wrote on behalf of many viewers, that Coolidge should just play Tanya's sister herself. "With all due respect to Jen Aniston, Pam Anderson and the myriad other actors who have been put in or placed themselves in contention for a role that does not and will not exist," he stated.

"If by some miraculous good fortune Mike White chose to include the never before referenced sister of the late Tanya McQuoid on THE WHITE LOTUS Season 3 (just let me have this run-on sentence, we’re already this deep in) it could and should only be played by Coolidge." Now, that would be more interesting, actually.
