In the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead, Maggie takes revenge on the Reapers by killing almost all of their remaining members. She escapes their compound with Negan and Elijah, hiding in a secret chamber until dawn. Meanwhile, at Alexandria, Rosita fights off walkers to protect Gracie and Judith. Aaron rescues them from the basement as the windmill threatens to destroy their security gate. Father Gabriel confronts Mancea, the Reaper's priest, but ends up stabbing him. Maggie fights Carver, who killed her sister, until Daryl stops her and suggests they use him to negotiate their escape. In the end, Gabriel poses as a sharpshooter and saves the day.
